Brett Tietjen – Northern Region Director

Brett Tietjen graduated from Garden City High School in 1998. While there he won a New York State Championship in 1997. Brett earned All-County Honors at midfield his senior year as well as the Nolan Award for most dedicated lacrosse player on the team. Brett went on to play at the University of Massachusetts.  He finished his lacrosse career at Hofstra earning a Bachelors in Business Administration in 2002. Brett was the assistant coach at New York Maritime for three years (2003 -2005) before returning to school to earn his Masters in Communication Arts from NYIT.

At Loyola High School he won the SoCal Southern Section CIF boys lacrosse championships in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.  He is currently the assistant coach at West Ranch High School.

Donnie Bowers – Eastern Region Director

Don Bowers is a Vermont native that was a two sport athlete at Division-2 Assumption College.  He played both football and lacrosse, starting at midfield for the lacrosse team all four years he was there.  As a mid-fielder at Assumption, Bowers led the NCAA in non-face-off ground balls for four years.  After college, Coach Bowers played for the Vermont Voyageurs for six years and specialized in defense and transition. He also found his way onto several MLL practice squads as a midfielder.  Coach Bowers has been coaching lacrosse since 2007 at various levels including youth, high school, and college.  He currently serves as the head varsity lacrosse coach at Calabasas high school.

Patrick Smith – Western Region Director

Patrick Smith is a native of Garden City, New York which has one of the richest lacrosse traditions in the country. In 1994, his senior year, he won a New York State Class “B” championship. He then attended the United States Naval Academy where he played both varsity and club lacrosse, graduating in 1998. After graduation he went on to become a Naval Aviator and flew combat missions as a mission commander in Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi freedom. After leaving active duty for a position as a pilot at a major airline he founded Silverfin Lacrosse in 2007. He has coached more teams than he can remember and has been instrumental to the growth of quality lacrosse in northern Los Angeles and Southern California.

Zach Jewell – Western Region

Zach Jewell attended Episcopal High School in Dallas, Texas where he was the captain of his team his senior year.  He then coached there for three years.  Once he arrived in California he coached with Pasadena’s youth program for three years.  He is the head coach of Newbury Park High School boys varsity lacrosse and has coached with Silverfin Lacrosse for two years. In summer 2019 his U11 team won the Buku Events Summer Kickoff.

Carter Esqueda – Western Region

Carter Esqueda is a graduate of Thousand Oaks High School where he was an All-Marmonte selection two times and team captain. He attended MCLA Division-1 University of Colorado where he was team captain and named an MCLA All-American his senior year. He has coached for the last two years with Silverfin Lacrosse and most recently his team won the Buku Events SoCal Summer Kickoff in June of 2019.

Brendan Smith – Eastern Region

Coach Smith, a native of Lowell Massachusetts, is the current head coach at Viewpoint High School.  Brendan was a four year starter at free safety at Northeastern University.  Coach Smith has been playing lacrosse since 3rd grade and has coached at a multitude of levels.

Ted Emery – Northern Region

Ted Emery has been playing lacrosse since the youth levels in Ohio.  Ted is a graduate of Regis College and brings significant coaching and playing experience to the DCLL.  A former attackman in college, Coach Emery is able to coach both offense and defense. He is currently the head coach at Valencia High School in Santa Clarita.

Austin Rosette – Northern Region

Coach Austin Rosette started his career at Valencia High School.  He then went on to play at Division 2 Tennessee-Wesleyan College.  Coach Rosette returns to the Los Angeles area having spent considerable time coaching with various youth programs over the past three years.  Currently he is the defensive coordinator at Valencia High School.

Brett Davis – Eastern Region

Brett Davis is a native of Southern California and played high school lacrosse at Chaminade Preparatory High School.  He then attended Thomas College and Dominican University of California where he played lacrosse as a defensive midfielder and defender. After graduating from Dominican University he was named the head women’s lacrosse coach at Cal State Northridge and head boys lacrosse coach at Notre Dame High School. Currently he is the Notre Dame High School boys varsity lacrosse coach.
